SAGA OF TWO WOLVES
Part 3: Friendship Reborn

Dedicated to my friend and best mate, Tony...

You will have had to have read the first two parts of this saga to truly understand the depth of this, “the rebirth of friendship” ...Boon

The days dragged on and months passed solemnly in the lives of One-Wolf and Brother-Wolf.

Separation was too much to bear. There were times when each felt the others presence, yet each watched in the darkness from the edge of camp. Loneliness filled the hearts of these warrior wolves. Friendship was not supposed to be stolen away; friendship was supposed to be eternal. Differences should have been accepted and diversity expected.

Regretfully, complete understanding and trust melted away. Both saw it happening; both reaped the consequences of failing to listen. Separation followed. In the hearts of both there was a void filled with blackness and sorrow. The months continued to fade into nothingness; it was as though time stood still and life had no purpose.

Brother-Wolf existed in the safety of the camp, Those in the pack were a great comfort to him and they brought him much joy. At times the sorrow vanished and the camp flourished. Good times among the brothers and sisters and the bantering was a great diversion and blessing to Brother-Wolf. Life was good and times were good and all seemed well to the soul.

Even so, Brother-Wolf would often make his way to the edge of One-Wolf’s camp to see the wonders he had created among his new tribe. His heart ached as he saw the words of his brother laid bare. He was content to watch and happy to just get a glimpse now and then of his brother One-Wolf. His words were powerful and his destiny great among many tribes. Healing was taking place because of the work One-Wolf was doing. Brother-Wolf saw no malice and could find no wrong concerning the journey One-Wolf was undertaking. His heart grieved.

He turned and walked away with a greater understanding. There were times that Brother-Wolf caught the presence of One-Wolf in the forest, But because of misunderstanding, he did not leave they cover of the wood.

In a dream Brother-Wolf had seen destiny unfold. There was a great council of Wolves and, in the center of the council was a wolf whose hair was white as snow. His speech was filled with the wisdom of the ages and the words he spoke were like no others he had ever heard. He spoke of forgiveness and love, He spoke the words of truth and honesty. He said the sun should never set upon wrath and anger should never be the captive of ones soul. For it will alter the life path, and cause brothers and sisters to stumble in the darkness. Brother-Wolf took heed of these great words and found that there was but one thing to do.

Brother-Wolf awoke early with the light of the Sun peeking over the forest trees. The dew formed upon the ground and as he traveled grass would stick to his feet as he ran. The dew of the forest rose as a wispy cloud towards heaven. It was as though the earth was saying, “Slow down, take the time to let the grass grow under your path; be silent, allow the earth’s offering to arise to the heavens and ascend to the great white Father.”

It was then Brother-Wolf realized that an offering was needed to know peace once again. Brother-Wolf gathered his thoughts, and other things essential for the offering. He wrapped them and carried them and laid them at the door of One-Wolf. Then slipping silently away and waited anxiously for a reply.

Great joy had filled his heart, and his joy was magnified. The offering of peace and friendship was accepted. Both One-Wolf and Brother-Wolf had experienced the same vision. They sat together and talked of the days gone by. They shared the wisdom that had been given from Great White Wolf in their vision. They spoke of a friendship greatly missed and wondered how it could have been taken so quickly away. Hours and days went by and they talked and wept, laughed and learned much about themselves. Trust was reborn and light filled their hearts.

Friendship had overcome darkness; trust had overcome differences; truth had exorcised darkness from their souls.

Life is good...
