In Loving Memory of Everett Charles Preston

REMEMBERING DAD

I walked into his room

as he took his last breath

death rattle rolled from his frail chest

I looked at my brother and said he's gone

And his memory still lives on...

He was a veteran of world war two

His creed and motto was "Can Do"

He was a Sea Bee, one of the best

And His memory still lives on...

I remember the day standing by his grave

Honored by his brothers for the service he gave

Flag draped over His final home

I never felt so all alone

And His memory still lives on...

He was a quiet man, as gentle as could be

loved his wife Marion, my brother and me

He gave his all, kept us strong

twenty three years have come and gone

And His memory still lives on...

He's got Grand kids he'll never see

but the Grand kids will know of his legacy

Gone but not forgotten, Til' the world ceases to be

until then he lives on in my brother and me..

And His memory still lives on..

"In our hearts He still lives on".
