DOES ANYONE REMEMBER ME?

©By Members Of Boondockers Poetic Justice

Alone I lay ...........................................................(Snake)
In cold damp clay
My Dreams will never be

For Freedom I died,
My Loved ones cried

But does anyone remember me?

I upheld my honor
............................................(Outlaw)
I did defend so that your
freedom will never end

I was proud and I say,
I would not have wanted
it another way.

But Does anyone remember me?

My life I give
......................................................(Boon)
so that others may live
to see a brighter day

These colors don't run
I'll fight till it's done
that's the American way.

There will be no ticker tapes
or coming home parades
No cheers or applause

I may lay here Dying'
but there's no use in cryin'
I a warrior for freedoms cause

But Will America remember me?

I too upheld my Honor
............................. .....(Marvin)
Traditions long and bold, from the
Deserts of the West to the Jungles
of the East, boldly I did go, for
Freedom called, Freedom i was to defend.

My life for yours, a fair trade if it
was to be, this so that you will be free

After call Grandpa said, it is always a
good day to die and for Freedom the cost
is never to great, the Warriors way it
will ever be, this so that you and yours
will ever be free.

*But does anyone remember me?

I hit the war late
............................................(Russ)
I thought I could skate
Then trouble did brew to the east.

My flight into harm's way
Delivered me to my death day
I couldn't escape from the beast!

*Does anyone remember me.

No flag on my grave
......................................(Randy)
No parade or waves
In this jungle there's nothing to see

My bones see no light
My souls taken flight
Still you MUST remember me!

I stand here and watch
................................(Dave)
as people walk by
I know too well
Why grown men cry.

Upon this wall
Are all of our names
None of us different
But none of us the same.

I'll wait my turn
You wait and see
Someone will come
That remembers me

Someone has come
......................................(Marvin)
I feel their hand on the
Cold Granite Panel,
I feel their presence

I feel their warmth
I feel the touch of small little hand
I hear a small voice breaking with tears
I LOVE YOU GRANDPA, I WILL NEVER FORGET
Sleep now, you know you did right.

Non-existent? Alas, I was to some, it seems
....... (Orions Rainbow)
Tho' my spirit may now dance among moonbeams,
I was once a living, breathing entity akin to you,
Yet, my blood is now mingled with the morning dew.

The essence of my being cries out from the earth,
How can you forsake me, is that all I'm worth?
Hold my memory close in your heart and soul,
Remember these words spoken so very long ago:

"Keep your head down, until we get home",
Cherish this thought, you'll never be alone.
I'll be right beside you thru all the pain,
Maybe someday we can all come in from the rain.

But, for now, I have to ask that you just please remember me.

As I look down from above
......................... (Tony)
through the eyes of a dove
I bless you with love
and remember.

The lives and the minds
of those left behind
will enjoy the good times
and remember.

Though they may not recall
all the names on the Wall
to their knees they will fall
and remember.

Each cross and each shrine
will be forgotten in time
but Freedom sublime
is remembered.

A flag unfurled .........................................(Caliber)
from the mouth of the wind.

Drumbeat of silence.
Heartbeat of memory.

Warriors sleep
beyond the grave.
The sky is dreaming!

Home are the brave.

It's been said that the year
......................(Mineman)
Can diminish the tears
But not for those men
Who have met their worst fears

We still talk with those fallen
A good deal of time
If not by our presence
At least in our mind

We'll meet again with our brothers
One final day
And thanks for remembering
I'm sure they will say

*Does anyone remember me.

"BPJ members I just read the group poem...It seems when a group poem is written at BPJ.........it brings out something very SPECIAL in this club. I don't know how to put it into words...I guess tears speak for themselves.....Writing your feelings in verse is a special talent and those  of    you who have it are truly blessed."

"On  this one  day     set  aside to remember all  those brothers and sisters  who gave  their lives  for  freedom. I pray that all do remember..........It seems like such a small thing to ask for the price that was paid. 365 days a year isn't really  enough for what was given. Each of us in our own way keep guard over fallen brothers and sisters and pass on to others the call to "NEVER FORGET"......I am so proud to be part of that history.......Even just a small part. So now what can I say to  equal    what was given. Thank You?   Does not seem like much does it??? But I do promise this, I Will "NEVER FORGET"............... ..God Bless each  one of  you who fought and came home to fight  each   day  a battle so few understand God Bless the loved ones who stand guard over their Vet and sometimes stand between them and those who don'tunderstand..In those homes across the USA I know for sure they will NEVER FORGET"

Someone told me long ago, there's a calm before the storm
I know, it's been commin' for some time
When it's over so they say, it will rain a sunny day
I know shinnin' down like water
I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain
I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain
 Commin' down sunny day
Yesterday and days before sun is cold and rain is hot
I know, been that way for all my time
And forever on it goes, through the circles fast and slow
 I know, it can't stop I wonder
